Erasmus+ at ITS Fondazione Albatros
Growing Skills, Expanding Horizons
Who hasn’t dreamed, at least once, of living a unique and transformative experience abroad?
At Fondazione ITS Albatros Academy, Erasmus+ becomes a unique opportunity to embark in a concrete pathway for personal and professional growth.
Through the programme, students develop not only academic and technical skills, but also intercultural awareness, adaptability, and a broader vision of their future.
Operating in the agro-food sector, ITS Albatros combines:
- 🌾 New technologies for Made in Italy
- 🌍 A focus on agro-food systems, agriculture, forestry, and fisheries
Connecting local excellence with international experience, Erasmus+ empowers students to turn their education into real-world impact.
Learning Through Mobility
Through Erasmus+ traineeships, students gain hands-on experience in real companies, applying their studies in practical contexts.
They build professional and transversal skills, boosting their confidence and employability at an international level.
The programme promotes:
- Equal access to education and new opportunities
- International mobility and key skills development
- Stronger links between education and the job market
Helping students grow, connect, and succeed – locally and globally.
Erasmus+ Call 2021
The Call 2021 for Erasmus + was made possible through a funded mobility project at Fondazione ITS Albatros, designed to support students with fewer economic opportunities, enabled by the collaboration between the Regione Siciliana (POR FSE 2014–2020) and INDIRE, the national body managing the Erasmus+ Programme in Italy, aiming at
- Promoting access to Erasmus+ mobility
- Providing scholarships and financial support
- Expanding opportunities for students with fewer resources
Students were invited to apply for the opportunity to undertake mobility experiences across European Union countries and the Southern Mediterranean area, fostering international learning, growth and inclusion.
Matteo’s Success Story
A significant example of this opportunity is the traineeship carried out by Matteo Sofia, who completed a mobility period, together with the tutor Silvia Cannata:
- 📍 At Punto Mara LTD
- 📌 Location: Gzira, Malta
- 📅 Period: 2 March 2023 – 31 March 2023
This experience represents how Erasmus+ can become a real bridge between education and the professional world.
Looking Ahead
Fondazione ITS Albatros continues to strengthen its international dimension. The Foundation has recently applied for the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education, a key certification that would further expand its capacity to participate in Erasmus+ actions and develop high-quality international partnerships.
The outcome is currently pending.
From a Study Project to a Life Path
Erasmus+ is more than mobility.
It is inclusion, opportunity, and transformation.
